C(R)UDO, BY LUIS ROMERO AT VENEZUELAN GALLERY BEATRIZ GIL

From June 24 to mid August, the gallery Beatriz Gil exhibits the last work of Luis Romero. Through a multifaceted proposal, the Venezuelan artist presents C(r)udo.

C(r)udo, Luis Romero en Galería Beatriz Gil

In C(r)udo, Romero presents a body of recent work that brings together a set of autonomous and diverse approaches where "the free superposition of elements recreates a unique and singular visual effect that, together with the incorporation of extra-artistic materials - templates, matrices, decals, stationery and polaroids, glass, metals, wood and discarded plastics-, grants an effective three-dimensionality to the plane, activating the dynamics of representation in a manifest compositional intention, conceived in the handling of transparencies and opacities ".

As a consequence of a relational and dialogical thinking, his work undertakes an incessant revision of the different principles of perception, as well as the conceptualization of contextual realities. Since its first works the plastic discourse is built from a punctual and persevering collection and recycling of images and objects, texts and typographies found that -from the use of diverse media and mixed media such as drawing, graphic arts, painting, collage and assembly-, deploy an encyclopedic universe of relationships that come from the domestic sphere and from the urban sphere linked, in the same way, to a biographical logic. However, the fragmented story that is organized between the word, the image and the space transcends the personal experience to advance in the construction of an abstract and self-referential imaginary that is born from the imagination.

Curator of the exhibition, Ruth Auerbach, explains: "Through these expressive strategies, the artist reveals disconcerting images whose interpretation shifts from everything that provides the certainty of their meanings: there is no evidence of an exegesis or accurate comment, because in they could all be random and contingent at the same time. "

According to Auerbach, both in the assemblages and in the series of monotypes exposed "the various geometric structures star specific images to start a game of unequivocal presences that appear to emphasize, not only the compositional and sense dynamics, but also a notion of precarious instability and programmed chaos ".

From Monday to Friday, the public will appreciate C(r)udo, the most recent work of Luis Romero. Beatriz Gil, located on California Street with Jalisco Street, Las Mercedes, Caracas. Free entrance.
