CINEMA AND PSYCHOANALYSIS AT THE RECOLETA CULTURAL CENTER

Direct from the Cinematheque of Berlin to the Recoleta Cultural Center (Buenos Aires, Argentina) TESA Foundation presents  Películas en la mente: psicología y cine desde Sigmund Freud (Films in the mind: psychology and cinema since Sigmund Freud)  will be exhibited at Cronopios Room from September 27th  to December 13th.

CINEMA AND PSYCHOANALYSIS AT THE RECOLETA CULTURAL CENTER

From a Freudian analysis, the exhibition will have interactive spaces dedicated to the different cinematographic productions. An example of this is the Gabinete de las lágrimas (Cabinet of Tears), focused exclusively on the analysis of Hollywood soap operas with the aim of understanding -one of the central themes of this exhibition- why we cry when we go to the cinema. Also, making emphasis on the humorous reference - the foundational element of Freudian theory - there will be a section specifically dedicated to "psychoanalytic humor" in charge of the work of Les Luthiers, Lutherapia.

In addition, the exhibition held at the CCR will have bibliographic material brought from the Herryck Library of Hollywood, in Beverly Hills, which has more than 90 years of show files never put into circulation.
