With an official reception to be held on Saturday, February 9 in San Juan, the celebration will be carried out with the collaboration of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico and Pregones / Teatro Rodante Puertorriqueño de Nueva York.

Regarding the new support offered by the NALAC, María López de León, the president and CEO of the institution explained: “This initiative underscores the efforts of cultural communities in Puerto Rico who each day construct a future that is more inclusive, sustainable and just”. The artists benefited by this recognition are Alexa Rivera, Macha Colón, Annie Y. Saldaña, Karla Claudio-Betancourt, Blanca Lissette Cruz, Sofía Gallisá Muriente, Émina, Papel Machete, Kily Vializ and Rosaura Rodriguez.

“Following on the heels of our Hurricane Maria Relief Drive, an initiative where we were able to award micro grants to artists in Puerto Rico, our theater entered in partnership with NALAC to support two additional performing arts projects. This collaboration illustrates our company’s longstanding commitment to continue highlighting, supporting, and collaborating with artists in Puerto Rico,” said Rosalba Rolón, Artistic Director at the Pregones/Puerto Rican Traveling Theater.
