The exhibition 'Argentine Art: 100 years in the Castagnino Collection + macro' was inaugurated

More than four hundred works exhibited in the two venues give an account of the wide production of Argentine art in the last century.

The exhibition 'Argentine Art: 100 years in the Castagnino Collection + macro' was inaugurated

From Friday, May 11, it is possible to visit the exhibition "Argentine Art. 100 years in the Castagnino Collection + macro ". The sample consists of three cores, two of them located in the Castagnino Museum and another in the Macro, through which a reading of the national artistic production is articulated. These three moments of the show address the beginnings of the collection in 1917 with the Municipal Commission of Fine Arts of Rosario review key experiences of the twentieth century as they were the Experimental Art Cycle and Tucumán Arde to the art of our century.

The first nucleus, located on the ground floor of the Castagnino Museum, is entitled 'An exposed past: roads of art between 1918 and 1968' and its curators are Guillermo Fantoni and Adriana Armando. On the top floor of the same building the second nucleus is presented, curated by Nancy Rojas and Roberto Echen with the title 'Temporary spills of a collection. Itineraries to rethink the genesis of contemporary Argentine art. Finally, the Macro Museum presents the third nucleus 'The end of the world began in 2001. Poetic exaggeration or historical determinism' under the curatorship of Clarisa Appendino and Carlos Herrera.
In total there will be more than four hundred works exhibited that account for a vast production of Argentine art from the last hundred years.
