VALLE DE SILICONA, THE THIRD INDIVIDUAL SHOW OF RODRIGO LOBOS AT DIE ECKE CHILEAN GALLERY

Since June 29 at Die Ecke Chilean gallery rooms emerges an awkward valley. Valle de Silicona (Silicone Valley) is the third individual show of the Chilean artist Rodrigo Lobos at the gallery. From an experimentation about silicone as a material, a series of paintings that make images of hands with icons and logos dialogue was made by the artist. The exhibition can be visited until the 28th of this month.

Valle de Silicona establishes an extraordinary space in relation to materials and iconography. In turn, this space created by the artwork revaluates the existence of the images of made by Lobos. The paintings are based on photographs taken for "mirror therapy": a therapy used for phantom limb syndrome (feeling that a limb that was amputated is still connected to the body).

After dedicating his work to the critique of "green capitalism" exercised by rich people who eat "happy chickens" and trek through green and neat places, Lobos has taken a completely different path at this stage of his career. Valle de Silicona, in Santiago de Chile is not only an opportunity to see the work of a sublime artist of the Chilean scene, but it is also the opportunity to understand how an artist explores a new territory a new path of experimentation.
