BAphoto LIVE PRESENTS PRINTPREVIEW: EDITORIAL SECTOR OF THE FAIR

The promotion of photography books that BAphoto had been carrying out in its previous editions is reinvented for this new edition. BAphoto Live presents PrintPreview, a sector dedicated to photobooks with the participation of Ediciones Larivière and Ediciones ArtexArte, in addition to a selection of fifteen contemporary photobooks from five guest self-managed publishers: Asunción, La Balsa, Sed, Sta. Rosa Editora and Vaciarte.

BAphoto LIVE PRESENTS PRINTPREVIEW: EDITORIAL SECTOR OF THE FAIR

Among its novelties, Larivière presents El Finde estuve en Rosario (I was in Rosario for the Weekend) by Maria Victoria Sananes, a photobook winner of the Larivière Foundation Prize 2019. ArtexArte in turn presents a series of publications related to the field of research in photography and art. All books can be purchased through the BAphoto Live platform

Invited Publishers:

Asunción Casa Editora is an independent project born in Buenos Aires, whose objective is the edition and publication of contemporary photographic projects. They bear their name in reference to the Paraguayan capital, one of the oldest cities in South America, because they relate to it being "a peripheral capital, far from the big centers." Managed by its founders, Alejandra Gonzáles and Agustina Triquell, Asunción's aim aisestablishing links within the Latin American scene.

Founded by Federico Paladino in the city of Buenos Aires and currently based in the Spanish city of Bilbao, La Balsa is located in a more experimental sector of photography. The projects edited by this publisher investigate different printing and paper processes, and seek to push the formats of their publications towards places not traveled. They present in Print Preview the titles Querida Natacha (2020), by Natacha Ebers; Fulmination (2018), by Sergio Dominguez; and I don't know if it's a storm (2019), by Lucía Peluffo.

Sed, on the other hand, is an Argentine publishing house that proposes a collaborative work model between authors, editors and designers. Each work they carry out is conceived as a latent unit around the discursive possibilities of the image. From this project come the titles Garbage System (2019), by Henrik Malmström; Decomposition (2019), by Santiago Martinelli; and Untitled Ruins (2020), by Martín Bollati; all of them exhibited at BAphoto LIVE.

The fourth invited publisher is Sta. Rosa Editora, an independent platform conceived as a contemporary photography laboratory. It began in 2011 and since then its production is focused on the publication of photobooks, fanzines and artist books. In this edition they present Alma Fuerte (2014), by Hannah Nacif, Eunuk Nam and Matheus Chiaratti; When you grow up, you won't even remember me (2018), by Pilar Villasegura; and The Power of Those Who Killed Returns to Me (2017), by Pilar Villasegura and Federico Paladino, with interventions by Martín Gusinde.

Finally, Vaciarte is a subcultural platform founded by Henrik Malmström in 2015. The project assumes as the central axis of its publications to establish a critical view of the visual culture of the City of Buenos Aires. The titles exhibited in PrintPreview are: From Yoga (2019), by Heinrik Malmström; Portraits Bs. As. (2019), by Daniela Pérez Reverón; and Recreation Catalog (2017), by Henrik Malmström.
