At the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), the collective exhibition In the Open or in Stealth curated by Raqs Media Collective proposes a space for temporary exploration where the future is constituted from diverse histories and geographies. Established this dialogue, the exhibition presents a series of possibilities, relationships and interconnected paths.

The XIII FEMSA Biennial- We Have Never Been Contemporary held in Zacatecas, Mexico, opened on October 25^th with a novelty: a model of collaborative work among all cultural institutions in the state of Zacatecas. In this way, the Biennial establishes a dialogue from local towards the global cultural context.

The Art Museum of the Americas (OAS AMA) and the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS present Amazogramas an individual exhibition by the Peruvian photographer Roberto Huarcaya. Until November 24, at the Museum of Visual Arts (Bogotá, Colombia) exhibits Ánima(l), a thougth on human-animal relations, a collective exhibition that emerged from the research-creation project held at the School of Arts of Utadeo Poéticas de lo cotidiano, estéticas de la vida (Everyday Poetics, Life Aesthetics) which involved teachers, students and graduates of the School, along with other guests.

The Mercosul Biennial of Visual Arts Foundation announced the Argentine curator Andrea Giunta as the chief curator of the exhibition that will be held at the Art Museum of Rio Grande do Sul and Santander Cultural (Porto Alegre, Brazil) on April 9^th to July 5^th, 2020. With a critical eye, the election of Giunta involves the links between art, feminism and emancipation exploration.

On November 2^nd Tres (Three) colective exhibition by Julio Alan Lepez, Paz Bardi and Santiago Erausquin, is held at the new Espacio Ftalo, located in Gorriti 3864 Street (Buenos Aires, Argentina), beein this the first collective exhibition of paintings in the space. Originated as an interdisciplinary project for the visualization of contemporary works, mainly figurative, Ftal opens its doors for third times in the year.

Ivan Grilo: Art that presents loving and political themes to Downtown Miami. Understanding that walks has a historical connection to the practice of thinking, the artist invites people to activate conversation and another way of perceiving the city and the world. The55Project is delighted to presents Ivan Grilo as the first solo project of the 2018/19 season, “Escribe una carta de amor” (Write a love letter) in collaboration with Mana Contemporary Miami and Downtown Miami. The project initially will use poetic sentences to activate subjective spaces in Downtown Miami creating the possibility of public interaction, promoting new possibilities for political and social discussion while activating conversation beyond the artist's native Brazilian territory, expanding while allowing borders to dissipate. For this installation Grillo has created a set of bronze sculptures in his signature style all bearing poetic phrases. The text comes from a fictitious love letter, which can be read as a political manifesto. Or, conversely, the phrases arise from a fictitious political manifesto that can be read as a love letter. In a gesture of inclusion for the diverse communities in Miami, the text appears alternatively in Portuguese, Spanish, Haitian Creole and English allowing each demographic to engage and be integrated on their own terms. "I am very interested in this ambiguity of phrases, which permeate politics and affection. This afternoon, within the framework of Escuela Abierta (Open School) program developed by FLORA, the Portuguese artist Ana Vidigal will hold a talk about her work -mainly focused on painting, collage and plastic arts-. The call is free, but with prior registration.

For the first time in China, a large-scale retrospective of Louise Bourgeois prolific artworks will be held. Curated by Philip Larratt-Smith, The Eternal Thread explores the Franco-American artist –gone two years ago-  work with an inauguration in November 3^rd  at the Long Museum of Shanghai.

Since October 17^th at the National Museum of Arts Reina Sofía (Madrid), Hospicio de utopías fallidas (Hospice of Failed Utopias) retrospective of Luis Camnitzer, is exhibited. Under the curatorship of Octavio Zaya, the exhibition aims to provide an integral look over the German-Uruguayan artist, essayist, composer and pedagogue artworks.

On October 6^th at Galería Leme, in São Paulo (Brazil), inaugurated "⌾" -symbol that refers to the sun- a collective exhibition commissioned by Catarina Duncan (Rio de Janeiro 1993), constituted through the work of seventeen artists who use symbology as a language. The work will remain in the gallery until November 3^rd.

The exhibition aims to build, through all it artworks, an imaginary where the symbology is overlapped with the traditional language to explain and criticize political issues. Also, establish relationships between the human and empirical and the hidden and unknown.

The symbol that bears the name of the exhibition - "⌾" - explained curator Catarina Duncan, is an appropriation of an icon used by a diversity of cultures to represent the sun and the manifestation of the divine. "Brazil is going through a very delicate moment and I like to see this show as a way of resistance, although it was not the intention of the curator," said Tatiana Gonçales in conversation with Arte Al Día and added: "Catarina opted for a more transversal research on multidisciplinary artists: Mahku - Artists Movement Huni Kuin (Brazilian indigenous ethnicity), Abdias Nascimento (revolutionary, politician, poet, etc), Camila Mota (Teatro Oficina’s actress), etc. "

Catarina Duncan plays with the contradictions that manifest the interpretation of the same symbol, in this case the Sun. On the one hand, for some this is an immense source of light that brings life and allows the perception of things. On the other hand, the same symbol can be interpreted as a circle or a point: synonyms of perfection (a third level of meaning that emerges from one of the many interpretations). In this sense, it was  Cabelo’s artwork Ovo Bomba (2018) which gave rise to the name and central axis of the entire exhibition.

Regarding the symbols, Carl G. Jung wrote: "What we call a symbol is a term, a name

or image that may be familiar to us in daily life, though it has special connotations beyond its obvious and

conventional meaning. It implies something vague, unknown or hidden to us."

The Cuban-Venezuelan researcher and independent curator of culture and visual arts José Antonio Navarrete, former curator of photography at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana and head of the Division of Curatorship, Research, Education and Library of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Caracas Sofia Imber, among other things, publishes her new work: Escribiendo sobre fotografía en América Latina. Antología de Textos, 1925- 1970 (Writing about  Latinamerican photography. Texts Anthology, 1925-1970).

Today at 6:30 p.m. at Plaza Independencia (San Miguel de Tucumán) inaugurates the Eighth Argentine Biennial of Documentary Photography. With a complete program -exhibitions, debates, workshops, and review of portfolios- and first-class guests, the biennial will be held in the capital of Tucumán until Monday, October 22.

On October 26, at SKETCH gallery new space in Bogotá inaugurates huésped (guest), by Matías Armendaris. Through an immersive installation, the Ecuadorian artist transforms the space into an organic body.

Until January 14^th, at the Amparo Museum in Mexico, a retrospective of the great Polish artist Marcos Kurtycz (1934-1996) is exhibited. In 1968, he traveled to the Central American country, where he spent the rest of his career. Under the curatorship of Francisco Reyes Palma, Contra el estado de guerra, un arte de acción total (Against the state of war, a total action art) explores the artworks of one of the action art pioneers.

Yesterday at the Museum of Modern Art of Medellín (MAMM) inaugurated Estamos más unidos a lo invisible que a lo visible (We are more united to the invisible than to the visible), an individual exhibition of the Chilean artist Felipe Mujica. The artworks exhibited in the Foundations Hall of the museum focuses on the production of curtains that Mujica has been developing for more than a decade with Johanna Unzueta and local embroiderers of the places where these have been produced.

Tomorrow afternoon at Casa Hoffman (Bogotá, Colombia) inaugurates TRANSMUTAR exhibition. Curated by the director of the curatorship department of the Contemporary Art Museum of Bogotá Juan David Quintero, the show is part of the winning exhibition cycle of the Plastic Arts Programming Scholarship in Bogotá Red Santa Fe Gallery of the District Institute of the Arts (IDARTES).

However, artists, gallery owners and collectors announced their rejection to a series of censorship measures taken by the institution causing the resignation of the Artistic Director of the Serralves Museum and curator of the exhibition, Joao Ribas.

At the Skissernas Museum (The Museum of Sketches for Public Art) of Sweden opens today, October 4, a collective exhibition dedicated to memory. Based on the works of a diversity of artists, including Uruguayan Luis Camnitzer, Memory Matters emphasizes the importance of collective memory in societies.

In the framework of the exhibition Lina Bo Bardi: Tupí or not tupí. Brazil, 1946-1992 inaugurating tomorrow, on October 8^th at Juan March Foundation (Madrid, Spain) The exhibition explained will be held. In conversation with Mara Sánchez Llorens -curator- and Juan Manuel Bonet -an artistic critic specialized in Brazilian art of the 20th century-, the initiative will be moderated by the architect Santiago de Molina.

Until November 4^th at the ICPNA of Miraflores it hosts the second central exhibition of the Fine Arts Museum centennial anniversary: Una trayectoria de imágenes: 1918-2018 (Images trajectory: 1918-2018). The show is curated by Max Hernández and Augusto del Valle in order to make an illustration of the artistic genres developed in that institution during its history.

After his residency at ARTSail, in South Florida, Mark Lee Koven presents One Drop at a Time, an immersive installation where viewers participate in it. Concurring education, technology and art, this experience aims to raise awareness among the public regarding over their environmental environments.

From October 3^rd to January 14^th, at Frank Gehry's building, the Louis Vuitton Foundation will exhibit a hundred works by the renowned artist and painter Jean-Michel Basquiat. The exhibition aims to make a journey throughout the American artist career that goes from 1980 to 1988, because of his early death.

Within the framework of the exhibition Historia de dos mundos (Tale of two worlds), held at the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires (MAMBA) on the occasion of its recent reopening, the institution presents Los elegidos de Greco. Leo García interpreta las canciones de Besos brujos. This will be held on October 11th in honor to the great Argentine artist Alberto Greco.
