In the heart of San Felipe, a northern Bogotá neighbourhood in process of gentrification, there is a building where more than 20 artists from all over the world work, talk and coexist. Each one has his own workshop and does part of the activities of the curricular program, which includes encounters with curators, theorists, and leaders of indigenous communities among others. Founded by curator José Roca in 2016 The Flora School residence turned Bogotá into a meeting point for a diverse group of people interested in art. The reasons why artists choose this residence are many, although everyone agrees that the experience in Bogota represents an important moment in their career. Here are some of the 2018 residents:

At the daadgalerie a symposium between curators and artists is held on July 11^th . The conversation was planned and formed by PARC and BAPhoto curator, Florencia Portocarrero, with the cooperation of KFW Stiftung and the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin programm. The speaker of it: Sharon Lerner, curator of the Museum of Art of Lima (MALI), Manuela Moscoso, chief curator of the Museo Tamayo in Mexico, the Parisian artist Louidgi Beltrame and the researcher María Iñigo Clavo, from Barcelona.

Since June 29 at Die Ecke Chilean gallery rooms emerges an awkward valley. Valle de Silicona (Silicone Valley) is the third individual show of the Chilean artist Rodrigo Lobos at the gallery. From an experimentation about silicone as a material, a series of paintings that make images of hands with icons and logos dialogue was made by the artist. The exhibition can be visited until the 28^th of this month.

In the German capital - one of the epicenters of the international contemporary art scene - the tenth edition of the Contemporary Art Biennial of Berlin takes place since June 9. This year the Biennial, entitled We do not need another hero, has the participation of the South African Gabi Ngcobo as curator in chief.

The large number of Latin American artists participating in this edition of the Biennial is no small thing: compared to previous editions, the curatorial project for 2018 decided to reduce the cast of artists from one hundred and twenty artists who participated two years ago, to only forty six this year. Taking into account these figures, the prominence of Latin American and Caribbean art is a novelty, as some ten artists from these regions participate.

After rising more than 30 flags last year, Creative Time closes de series with German artist Josephine Meckseper´s flag around twelve cultural institutions.

NAC Gallery + Espacio Monclova are exhibiting together for the second time in Lima, this July 11^th. On this occasion, part of the exhibition Atmosferas (Atmospheres), by Nicolás Sánchez and El acero está hecho de estrellas petrificadas  (The steel is made of petrified stars) by Rodrigo Vergara in collaboration with CO Gallery and Editorial Meier Ramirez.

Recursiva, an individual exhibition by Argentine artist Carlos Huffman. The exhibition opens tomorrow in the Constitution space and will be until August 24.

Since Wednesday July 4th, Galeria Impakto of Lima, presents the collective exhibition: Plano Sobre Plano (Flat Over Flat) includes works by Ryan Brown, Jorge Cabieses, Michelle Prazak and Daniel Martinez.

Located in the city of Córdoba, La Casa Blanca inaugurated on June 28^th Richmond, Reggo, Real, the solo show by the artist from Mar del Plata (Buenos Aires, Argentina) Daniel Basso. It can be visited until August 10^th.

From June 29 to July 28, the Peruvian and American Cultural Institute (ICPNA), in Peru, presents an individual exhibition of the popular artist, Cherman Quino Ganoza. Peruvian Selfie is a self-portrait of Peruvian popular culture, not just by way of illustration , but also for celebration. The exhibition is at the ICPNA gallery in Miraflores and is free.

The Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage announced through an official statement on June 28 the shortlisted projects to represent Chile at the 58^th Venice Biennial, which will be held from May 11^th to November 24^th, 2019.

The exhibition Venice in green key. Nicolás García Uriburu and the coloration of the Grand Canal will open today at the National Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibition commemorates the 50th anniversary of the intervention of the Argentine artist in the waters of Venice on June 19, 1968.

In conjunction with the Museum of Modern Art of Medellín (MAMM), the Centro Cultural Matucana 100 presents Formas de Libertad (Forms of Freedom), the exhibition of the Colombian artist Carlos Motta that opened on Tuesday 26 at the Gallery of Visual Arts M100, in Chile.

In the framework of its 55 years aniversary, the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (MAMBO) presented on June 14^th El arte de la desobediencia (The art of disobedience), an exhibition that seeks to highlight the relevance of art in Colombia. From 1965 to 1984, the exposition represents a modernism rupture period that allowed important transformations in artistic practices.

Simultaneous with its participation in Condo New York hosting Galeria Madragoa, Lisbon, Alexander and Bonin will use its ground floor space to present Gallery Laboratory, which has been conceived of as both an exhibition and as a working environment to consider artworks in new configurations and installations. The selection of works displayed in Gallery Laboratory will change over the course of the exhibition. The first iteration will include works by Willie Cole and Jonathas de Andrade. The exhibition opens tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. and lasts until August 27.

From June 24 to mid August, the gallery Beatriz Gil exhibits the last work of Luis Romero. Through a multifaceted proposal, the Venezuelan artist presents C(r)udo.

Since Tuesday, July 10^th, the individual show Hablar al aire (Talking to the Air) by Peruvian photographer Maricel Delgado at Galería del Paseo in Lima is presented.

From July 12^th  to October 21^st, 2018, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao presents for the first time in Spain the exhibition Teatro de sombras (Shadow Theater) by the Venezuelan artist Javier Téllez, a key figure in the development of video installations of the last decades. The exhibition will be held in the Film & Video room, an initiative of the Museum to present essential pieces of video art, video installation and moving image as an artistic medium (the Venezuelan exposition will be the second that takes place in this room).

Through disciplines such as painting, photography, sculpture, installation and video, a group of artists come to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), of the University of Chile, to resignify the concept of a monument. Húsares Trágicos (Tragic Hussars) alludes to the name of a novel published in 1965, by Jorge Inostroza. In several volumes, the text portrays the life of two of the most iconic figures in the founding history of Chile: Manuel Rodríguez and José Miguel Carrera. The exhibition opens on July 5^th at the MAC Forest Park headquarters.

The Casado Gallery Santapau is pleased to present El Ladrillo (The Brick), the first solo exhibition in the gallery of the Chilean artist living in Madrid, Patrick Hamilton. The opening of the exhibition was on June 21^st at 7:00 p.m. The exhibition will be open until July 28^th, 2018.

Next Wednesday June 27 at 7 pm, Malbec presenting a set of photographs by Cindy Sherman (United States, 1954) and Richard Prince (Panama, 1949), two references of contemporary photography, whose work revolutionized artistic circles in the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition is curated by Victoria Giraudo, Head Curator of  Malba Museum  and Grunnar Kvaran, Director of the Astrup Fearnley Museum in Oslo.

On Sunday, June 17, at the Los Galpones Art Center, Caracas, the Venezuelan artist Miguel Braceli presented the 1:1 individual exhibition. The exhibition brings together Braceli's current work, where the works function as a large spatial installation interacting with each other.

Ignacio Noguerol (Perú) presents since last 31st of May his solo show "Pinturas" in ICPNA Lima Centro.

BAphoto, the international art fair specialized in photography, is preparing for its next edition: from September 7^th to 9^th at La Rural fairground of Buenos Aires.

For Freedoms is an artistic proposal in solidarity with Acción por la Libertad (Action for Freedom) a non-profit organization from Venezuela committed to freedom and democracy. Acción por la Libertad was born after the persecution and arbitrary detentions of political dissidents and students imposed by the Venezuelan government upon its citizens since the protests that started in February 2014. Four years after its founding, the organization the foundation’s objective is to promote human rights and to document and report violations against fundamental rights: freedom of opinion and expression, freedom of association and assembly and, more recently, freedom of movement. The exhibition opens on Thursday, June 21 at Henrique Faria Fine Art, in New York.

The Carrillo Gil Art Museum (MACG), in Mexico, inaugurated on Friday, June 15^th, Los artefactos subordinados. Objeto, cuerpo y acción en la colección MACG(Subordinated artifacts. Object, body and action at the MACG collection), a collective exhibition with works by Allora and Calzadilla, Eduardo Abaroa, Marcos Kurtycz, Gustavo Artigas, Cristian Segura, Melquiades Herrera, Esperanza Hippopotamus, Raffael Rheinsberg and Héctor Zamora.

Diablo Rosso is a think tank located at the Historic District of Panama City. Founded in 2006 with the aim of supporting young Latin American artists, the space opens this afternoon Una serie de eventos desafortunados en el pasado me obligaban en el presente a comer deprisa (A series of unfortunate events in the past forced me to eat quickly on the present), Jhafis Quintero solo show.

Melanie Smith's exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA) is a monographic exhibition organized around seven juxtaposed thematic nuclei that record the trajectory of Venezuelan British music from the early nineties to the present. The rooms have more than 120 works by Smith, thus becoming the largest exhibition dedicated to the artist's career.

In 2014, the non-profit organization Wildlife Conservation Society invited twelve Latin American artists to enter the Bahuaja Sonene Reserve located in the south east of Peru. The idea of ​​the program was, through artistic expression, to make known the reservation to the region so that awareness is generated. Bahuaja Sonene is one of the six national parks with the most biodiversity on the planet. Among the poets, musicians, chefs and visual artists invited to represent this great landscape was Roberto Huarcaya, a Peruvian psychologist, photographer and artist who has been experimenting with the notion of territory for several years from his series of panoramas Campos de Batalla (Battlefields).
