On January 30^th at Es Baluard Museu d'Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma (Palma de Mallorca), the most developed artistic productions in the contemporary scene will share a room with traditional artworks by world and historically recognized artists.

On February 1^st, the University Galleries at Florida Atlantic University’s (FAU) Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents Black Mirror, and other Third World reflections-selections from the Mario Cader-Frech Collection. The exhibition will take place from February 1^st to March 16^th at the Ritter Art Gallery, and from February 15^th to April 6^th at the Boca Raton Campus.

From January 30 to April 21^st, Galeria do Torreão Nascente de la Cordoaria, in Lisbon, presents Criteria. Under the curatorship of the curator and Portuguese art teacher Miguel von Hafe Pérez, the exhibition will be made thanks to the collection of works from the ARCO / IFEMA Foundation Collection.

The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) of the University of Pennsylvania will hold three presentations with the purpose of addressing political and social problems from new narratives. One of these exhibitions will feature the work of artist Cecilia Vicuña. Organized by Assistant Curator Meg Onli, the Chilean artist will exhibit Cecilia Vicuña: About to Happen from February 1^st to March 31^st.

Since January 19^th, in the space recently inaugurated by the Murilo Castro Gallery (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) in Miami, artist Marcos Coelho Benjamin presents Aimless Geometry. Constituted by a series of sculptures, the exhibition will remain in the gallery until February 23^rd.

Within the 12^th Shanghai Biennial, the Colombian artist Miguel Ángel Rojas (Bogotá 1946) presented New El Dorado (A Wild Economy), two satellite photographs intervened and transformed into a mural. Under María Belén Sáez curatorship the artwork is inscribed in the PRO-REGRESS curatorial concept proposed by the Mexican curator Cuauhtémoc Medina in charge of the biennial curatorship.

As a part of the De gira por España (Touring Spain) cycle that the National Museum of the Prado celebrates for its bicentennial - during a month a painting of special relevance of the collection of the Prado Museum leaves its usual space to visit different museums of the country-, the Spanish Museum of Abstract Art of Cuenca receives in its rooms Francisco de Zurbarán’s San Francisco en oración (Saint Francis in prayer, 1659). Between the 22^nd of January and the 17^th of February Zurbarán’s artwork will give place to Un maestro antiguo entre artistas contemporáneos: Zurbarán en el Museo de Arte Abstracto Español (An ancient master among contemporary artists: Zurbarán in the Spanish Museum of Abstract Art) exhibition.

Until February 11^th, the Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (ICPNA) opens the call for the ICPNA Contemporary Art Award 2019. Destined for Peruvian and foreign artists residing in Peru, the winner of the 2019 edition will be awarded with S / 30,000 (thirty thousand soles) and an individual exhibition.

In its 23^rd edition, the Arco Foundation "A" Awards for Collecting announced the winners. From individual private collectors to museums, the winners were six: Cleusa Garfinkel; CAAC MALI, Museum of Art of Lima; The Meadows Foundation; Bank of Spain Collection; H.E.F. Collection, Juan Entrecanales Azcárate, and Kells Collection (Juan Manuel Elizalde and Choli Fuentes). 

Looking forward for the 34^th São Paulo Biennial that will take place in 2020, the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo appointed Italian Jacopo Crivelli Visconti as the general curator of the biennial. Independent critic and curator, Crivelli Visconti lives in the Brazilian city where he completed a PhD in architecture at the Universidade de São Paulo.

With an inauguration on January 9^th at Punta del Este space of Galería del Paseo, the Argentine painter Juan José Cambre exhibited a series of works made in recent times. Cambre's geometric paintings occupied Galería del Paseo until yesterday afternoon, forming part of a series of short-term exhibitions.

With only months lasting for the most important event of the international art scene, Venice is preparing to celebrate the 58^th Venice Biennial. Founded at the end of the 19th century, the Italian city biennial reinvents itself every two years to summon the most outstanding figures of the contemporary scene. Under Ralph Ruggof general curator of the biennial proposal, May You Live in Interesting Times will is the leitmotiv which will transform Venice from May to November inti an art factory.

On January 22^nd at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, the Mexican artist Mariana Castillo Deball (Mexico City, 1975) presents Finding Oneself Outside. Under Natalie Bell’s curatorship, the exhibition aims to describe the consequent sensations of study and experience in foreign cultures.

At El Museo del Barrio (New York, USA) February brings an unprecedented exhibition of the Chilean visual artist Alejandro Jodorowsky (Tocopilla, 1929). Best known for his filmography, under the curatorship of María Inés Rodríguez Jodorowsky will present at El Museo a series of literary works and visual archives that were never published. In addition, records of his theatrical works and performances made in Paris throughout the 50s within the Panic movement will be exhibited.

Since January 2^nd at Galería del Paseo (Punta del Este, Uruguay), Cynthia Cohen presents Un jardín sobre una playa, una playa sobre una ciudad, una ciudad sobre un cerro (A garden on a beach, a beach on a city, a city on a hill) exhibition.

Since January 23^rd at El Museo del Barrio (New York, USA) the year begins with Italian-Argentinean artist Lucio Fontana’s Ambiente Spaziale (Spacial Environment) exhibition.

The renowned Spanish sculptor, Aurora Cañero, returns to Chile after 13 years, with a stunning exhibition of her sculptures. The exhibition will take place at Aninat Galería de Arte main room with its inauguration on January 16^th and a closing on March 12^th.

Until February the 3^rd, at La Virreina Center de la Imatge (Barcelona, Spain), a retrospective dedicated to Chilean artist Lorenza Böttner (Punta Arenas, Chile, 1959 - Munich, Germany, 1994) is exhibited. Consequence of a co-production between La Virreina Center de la Imatge and the Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart (Stuttgart, Germany), the exhibition inaugurated in early November and was conceived under Paul B. Preciado’s curatorship with Viktor Neumann, Pere Pedrals and Andrea Linnenkohl collaboration.

Saturday, January 5^th is the last day to visit the Cuban artist Gustavo Pérez Monzón exhibition at the Richard Saltoun Gallery, located in London. This exhibition does not only mean the artist's debut in the United Kingdom, but it is also his return after a recess of artistic production of more than thirty years.

With the aim of promoting the visualization of outstanding artists, the works of those who were awarded with the National Prize for Artistic Trajectory -recognition granted by the Argentine State through the Buenos Aires Fine Arts National Museum (MNBA) - are exhibited at the National Hall of the MNBA. After five decades, the museum takes up this experience.

This afternoon at Galería del Paseo in Punta del Este (Uruguay), the gallery located in Manantiales neighborhood will screen THEM documentary record, a co-directed play by Liliana Porter and Ana Tiscornia. After a meeting of the Venice Biennale Board, the 17^th International Architecture Exhibition to be held in 2020 has a new curator: Hashim Sarkis. Recommended by Paolo Baratta, director of the Venice Biennale Board, Sarkis was appointed director of the Architecture Sector of the Biennial.

During Miami Art Week some of the most important fairs of the modern and contemporary art international scene were celebrated. This is the case of PINTA Miami, the fair committed to the support and visibility of Latin American art within the international focus. With a phenomenal growth during its fifth edition at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center, the results of PINTA Miami 2018 are the projection of its increasingly reputation in the international circuit.

Since May 17^th at the Jumex Museum (Mexico City, Mexico) they present an unprecedented exhibition. Apariencia desnuda: el deseo y el objeto en la obra de Marcel Duchamp y Jeff Koons, aun (Nude appearance: desire and object in the work of Marcel Duchamp and Jeff Koons, still) curated by Massimiliano Gioni, is an exhibition that explores the parallels between two of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

During yesterday and today afternoon, with the purpose of celebrating the UTDT 2018 Film Program held at the Torcuato Ditella University (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Con la vista nublada no se ve nada (With a cloudy sight nothing is seen) is a collective exhibition where the program participants project and exhibit the work during the year. Also, works of artists invited to the 2018 edition and previous years are exhibited.

At Diablo Rosso think tank and art space located in the center of Panama City in Panama, the Costa Rican artist Fabrizio Arritea (Costa Rica, 1982) presents since December 1^st La Tierra era Plana (The Earth Was Flat), an individual exhibition that explores the meaning production generated by social media and their effects over people acting or thinking.

In order to celebrate the opening of its second space in Miami, Florida, Pablo Atchugarry Foundation (Uruguay) presents a retrospective exhibition of the Uruguayan artist José Pedro Costigliolo (1902-1985). Forerunner of non-figurative art, Costigliolo's contribution to geometric abstraction development -movement emerged mainly in Latin America- has been recognized internationally. Raised as a retrospective that explores the changes and evolutions of the Uruguayan artist, La Vida de las Formas (The Life of The Forms) opens the foundation new headquarters at Miami on December 29.

From December 14^th to February 21^st at Sala Gasco Contemporary Art, in Santiago de Chile, the artists Jorge Brantmayer, Víctor Castillo, Catalina González, Angie Saiz and Joaquín Segura present Postrauma. Under Saiz curatorship the exhibition aims to illustrate the multiple expressions after traumatic experiences.

In addition to Clorindo Testa’s individual exhibition the Fine Arts National Museum (MNBA) of Buenos Aires (Argentina) inaugurates En Tránsito. Fotografías de la colección del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (In Transit. Photographs from the Fine Arts National Museum collection). After passing through Córdoba and Mendoza provinces, the photographs of Henri Cartier Bresson, Graciela Iturbide and Sara Facio, among other renowned artists who make up the MNBA collection, will be exhibited since tomorrow on the second floor of the museum.

Tomorrow at the Jumex Museum, the North American artist Michael Smith presents ¡Imagina la vista desde aquí! (¡Imagine the view from here!), an exhibition that represents aging, failure and enthusiasm based on the aspirational construction of corporate and institutional culture.
