MUSUK NOLTE NOMINATED IN Ch.ACO ART FAIR FOR THE EFG LATIN AMERICA ART AWARD

The EFG Latin America Art Award, organized by EFG Capital in partnership with ArtNexus, included Ch.ACO once again as part of the circuit of the most relevant Latin American fairs. In addition to Ch.ACO, the fairs included in this year's nominating process for the award are: ArteBA from Buenos Aires, ArtBO from Bogotá, ART LIMA and PArC from Peru and SP Arte from Sao Paulo. The winning artist will be selected at the end of this year amongs the nominees at Pinta Miami.

Celia Birbragher, Director of ArtNexus magazine; Víctor M. Echevarría, Chairman of EFG Capital International; Óscar Roldán-Alzate, curator, and Susanne Birbragher, CEO and founder of Liaisons Global Experiences, unveiled the nominated artist from Ch.ACO in the context of the Open Ch.ACO online fair at a Zoom meeting.

This prestigious award’s tenth edition has been developed entirely online, continuing to be carried out despite the challenges with the current pandemic.

This series of images is a reflection about the desert from its symbolic condition, as well as the stage of a social process. The images are the result of registering the territory at different stages of the occupation process:

One of the first things to do in an invasion is to put up a flag of Peru. Although this action has an apparent symbolic objective, it gives rise to a series of possible readings that make its function more complex, which Nolte reflects on.

This award celebrates its first decade awarding artists from the region. It consists in the acquisition of a work of art by EFG Capital for its permanent collection from one of the preselected artists in the five mentioned fairs. The EFG Latin America Art Award was created with the aim of supporting and promoting the production of artworks by Latin American artists and to give visibility to regional fairs among international collectors. Once all the nominees from the participating art fairs circuit have been selected, the winner will be announced in Pinta Miami during Art Basel week, where EFG Capital will acquire the winning artist's artwork.
