2021-2022 Y.ES Contemporary Artist Academy

The program will bring together a group of 6 Salvadorans to participate in activities focused on generating critical dialogues around issues relevant to Salvadoran and global art.

It will consist of 2 to 3 workshops per year conducted by international professionals, in addition to lectures and seminars in person and online, and periodic meetings with the Y.ES Contemporary team for the development of projects. International collaborators will be announced shortly.

Artists, curators, students, cultural managers, writers, other professionals and public in general are eligible to apply to participate in the Academy. The participants for the Academy will be selected by an independent jury of experts.

The main goal of the program is to share theoretical and practical tools that allow the development of projects that enter into dialogue with the systems of global art and contemporary thinking. The program seeks to generate a balance between artistic professionalization, the creation of critical thinking and the planning and development of projects.

Applicants will be selected by a Jury composed of Dalia Chévez, Claire Gilman and Josseline Pinto.
