THE INVISIBLE FORCE OF LIFE. VEROVCHA'S EXHIBITION AT GALERÍA DEL PASEO
Galería del Paseo inaugurated a new exhibition: Intersiendo (Inter-being) is the solo show of artist Verovcha. Curated by Florencia Portocarrero.

A graduate in Drawing and Sustainability from Pratt Institute (New York), Verovcha has developed a distinctive formal language, from a manual work in pieces with totemic reminiscences. Verovcha's works are made from materials such as canvas, linen and handmade paper, on which the artist superimposes layers of pastels, acrylics and wools to give them a somatic appearance. For Intersiendo, Verovcha's first solo exhibition at Galería del Paseo, the artist proposes a speculative abstraction of what the invisible force behind all life on earth would look like, the one that gives foundation to our being in common.
In the words of curator Florencia Portocarrero: "In her hands, organic forms are synthesized and become diagrams of possible metabolisms or systems of energy capture. In this process, which can be described as a transition towards abstraction, the combination of bright and deep colors –electric greens and oranges, celestial blues and purples, as well as pale pink and blood red– allows her to generate vibrations and intense contrasts between views that confuse the microscopic and the cosmic inside each piece".

Florencia Portocarrero, curator of the NEXT section at Pinta PArC, opens a space for us on her agenda from Lima to talk about her curatorial work this year. He brings us closer to his vision and his way of approaching this task through sensitivity and openness to dialogue with galleries and their emerging artists. As the director of Bisagra, an independent art collective that she directs together with Miguel A. López, and the artists Andres Pereira Paz, Eliana Otta, Iosu Aramburu and Juan Diego Tobalina, she shares with us her desire to "horizontalize" relationships when thinking and to create an exhibition, an attitude that translates into the moment of curating NEXT.
