LANGUAGE AND NATURE IN PABLO LINSAMBARTH’S WORK AT ATM

From 02/22/2025 to 05/01/2025
Guijón, Spain

The ATM Gallery in Asturias presents La naturaleza del lenguaje (The Nature of Language), a solo exhibition by Pablo Linsambarth (Santiago, Chile, 1989). The artist's proposal focuses exhaustively on the anecdotal aspect of certain narratives as the deep well from which he draws his work. Centered on immortalizing seemingly ordinary scenes, his producition is actually a reflection on both the political and the everyday.

LANGUAGE AND NATURE IN PABLO LINSAMBARTH’S WORK AT ATM

For Linsambarth, art in its essence is a language with its own idiosyncrasy and system—a set of codes and semiotics that structure the relationship between what is marked by time or knowledge, between the enigmatic and the timeless. Although his primary medium is canvas, the Chilean artist does not shy away from using ceramics, video, and installation, as long as they are propitious for the sublimation and expression of those relationships and their captured moments.

In this exhibition, the Chilean artist presents a series of paintings that capture moments and the everyday lives of his protagonists, who are surrounded by vegetation. This proposal stems from the artist’s recent research, which has been amplified by his interaction with the natural environment surrounding the gallery in the town of Deva. La naturaleza del lenguaje has been curated by Cristina Ramos, who aims to expand and integrate themes of nature and ecology—particularly aquatic and plant life—into contemporary art.

La naturaleza del lenguaje is on view until May 1 at ATM Gallery, Carretera de Deva, 675, Gijón (Spain).
