The Visual Arts Prize of the FNA is aimed at Argentine and foreign artists who legally live in Argentina with the aim of recognizing and promoting national production.

For my twentieth and final posting on the Getty-led initiative exploring Latin American and Latino art in dialogue with Los Angeles, we will look at Juan Downey: Radiant Nature, a joint exhibition by Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE) and Pitzer College Art Galleries. The exhibitions brought to life important interactive works by the Chilean-­‐born artist Juan Downey (1940–1993) that have not been seen for generations. Drawing on groundbreaking research, Radiant Nature features recreations of Downey’s electronic sculptures and installations from the late 1960s and documentation of his early, innovative performance pieces. This two-­‐part exhibition opened at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA, on September 9 and at LACE in Los Angeles on September 13. They closed in December of 2017.

The Uruguayan artist Ricardo Pascale presents the exhibition 'El Elemento' in Galería del Paseo (Punta del Este - Lima).

'Contracorriente' is the first exhibition of the Spanish curator Emilio Navarro in Die Ecke Contemporary Art which brings together three international artists: Nati Bermejo from Spain, Gabriel Kondratiuk from Argentina and Remy & Veenhuizen from Holland.

The gallery based in Punta del Este and Lima presents an exhibition by the Uruguayan artist Fernando López Lage.

The Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, under the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, celebrates the hundred years of the Argentine artist Ides Kihlen with the opening of its exhibition Ides Kihlen: The whole century is carnival, which will have place on Tuesday, December 19 at 6:30 pm at Av. Coral Gables City Hall, Raúl Valdés-Fauli, Mayor of Coral Gables, and curator Ninoska Huerta presented a public art installation at City Hall and surrounding areas by Venezuelan Kinetic Master Carlos Cruz-Diez. Comprised of a chromatic environment specifically designed for the city, the installation will be on view until January 20, 2018.

On Friday, December 15th at 8:00 pm at Dieecke Haus, Lilly Lulay will present the first results of this research together with a video "Istanbul" (2015), new collages of the Mindscapes series and have a conversation with the Artist and teacher Claudia Aravena

The Chilean gallery Artespacio presents from December 15th to January 6th, 2018, the exhibition "Dibujos de luz" by Benjamín Ossa.

The Peruvian gallery CEDE opens on December 13, starting at 7:30 pm, the exhibition TRASLACIÓN by Melisa Dupont, curated by Sissi Hamann.

On Wednesday, December 13 at 7:00 pm, Walden Gallery (Buenos Aires) presents the exhibition Territorio - Arte Textil Argentino 1970/1990 with works by Nora Aslan, Nora Correas, Gracia Cutuli, Azucena Miralles and Tana Sachs, curated by Ixchel Ledesma.

PINTA Miami began its second decade dedicating the eleventh edition to the strengthening of dialogues and cultural debates proposed from the full visualization of Ibero-American art. The Words We Won’t Say presents a selection of works by four prominent contemporary artists from Colombia: Iván Argote (b. 1983), Milena Bonilla (b. 1975), Carlos Motta (b. 1978), and Oscar Muñoz (b. 1951).

From December 2, 2017 to April 2, 2018, Proa Foundation presents Inoculation, a remarkable exhibition dedicated to public work and social intervention of one of the most famous and influential contemporary artists in the world, Ai Weiwei.

ESTE ARTE, the fair that takes place in Punta del Este, Uruguay, has shared the line-up of international galleries participating in its the 4th edition. This year a completely redesigned layout, with expanded exhibition spaces, greater booths, enjoyable aisles and yummy dining areas. On Saturday, December 2, the last Gallery Days of the year arrives. The circuit that will close the 2017 cycle includes the neighborhoods of Palermo and Villa Crespo and will have the participation of 32 galleries, workshops and art spaces will open their doors from 3pm to 7pm so you can visit them and live a different afternoon.

The exhibition-curated by the artistic director of the Museum, Mariana Marchesi-gathers 19 sculptures and three drawings by Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) belonging to the Fine Arts collection, in room 10 on the ground floor.

Curator Dan Cameron brings to the international art calendar a new biennial called Open Spaces: Kansas City Art Experiences. From August 25th to October 28th 2018, the first edition of the contemporary and scenic arts event will feature new works by Nari Ward, Nick Cave and other great names.

From November 25, 2017 to April 2, 2018 the exhibition A Tale of Two Worlds its open at the MMK Museum for Modern Art Kunst in Frankfurt am Main that collaborates with the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires in Argentina. 

Exhibition Features over 100 Artworks by Matta-Clark and Rarely Seen Archival Materials On view November 8, 2017 – April 8, 2018

For my nineteenth posting of the Getty-led initiative exploring Latin American and Latino art in dialogue with Los Angeles, we will look at the Skirball Cultural Center’s exhibition ANOTHER PROMISED LAND: ANITA BRENNER’S MEXICO on view from September 14, 2017 through February 25, 2018. The exhibition celebrates a Mexican-American Jewish cultural trailblazer featuring works by luminaries of the Mexican Renaissance including Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, and Frida Kahlo. The Skirball Museum Director, Robert Kirschner, points out that the museum’s participation in PST: LA/LA fully aligns with its mission to bridge people of diverse heritage and history while learning about its neighbors and consider how it represent cultures that are not their own.  The show is curated by Sharon Lerner (MALI) and Gabriela Rangel (Americas Society of New York) and will be open to the public from November 17, 2017 to March 4, 2018 in temporary rooms 1, 2 and 3 of MALI.

The 12th edition of the Shanghai Biennale will take place at the Power Station of Art (PSA) from November 10, 2018 to March 10, 2019.
