END OF BAphoto 2021 - THE HIGHLY AWAITED RETURN
BAphoto premiered the in-person season in Buenos Aires with its seventeenth edition and celebrated with a fantastic meeting. Artists, gallery owners, curators, collectors and photography lovers came together to exhibit and enjoy the best of photography. The fair featured the outstanding work of curators Francisco Medail, Bárbara Golubicki, Irene Gelfman, Florencia Battiti, Rodrigo Alonso, Verónica Santalla and Celina Marco.

Of the blend, BAphoto Live will remain open until the end of October. Both Argentine and international galleries have the opportunity to expand their exhibitions globally and for a wider period of time. The online platform can be accessed here.
Commitment, trust and the eagerness for a comeback made this 2021 edition of BAphoto possible. In a blend format, with Argentine galleries exhibited in-person and international galleries exhibited online, BAphoto presented its usual sections: Main Section, Fuera de Foco, Artista Homenaje, Wunderkammer, Special Project, Video Project and the Isla de Ediciones. In addition, as a novelty, this year the Pop Up in Patio Bullrich with curatorship by Irene Gelfman extends for three months.
In addition to being a blend between the in-person and the virtual, the fair was recontextualized and went from the pavilion to the meeting. Located in the Casa Basavilbaso in Retiro, built in the 1920s, BAphoto offered this time a gathering totally immersed in the spirit of an era and representative of the cultural character of Buenos Aires; a particular place with deep history that fostered dialogue between artists, professionals and the public.
With the aim of promoting photography as an artistic discipline, BAphoto has continued to develop its audiovisual content platform. LiveTalks, OpenFiles, Masterclasses and more are available for free and online in the Media Point program: curated by Vero Santalla, this section brings artistic production and management closer to the general public through a more personalized experience.
Also available on the BAphoto website, is the catalog for this edition: including all the fair's programs, both in-person and virtual, this catalog accounts for an exhaustive curatorial endeavor and an extraordinary artistic and photographic production.
BAphoto is especially grateful for the support of its sponsors: EFG for its commitment to modern and contemporary art, ICBC, Zurich for supporting the pedagogical work of the Masterclass cycle, Patio Bullrich for its role in Artista Homenaje, artexarte Fundación Alfonso y Luz Castillo for supporting Livetalk and the entire team and agents that made BAphoto 2021 possible.
