MANUEL SEGADE IS THE NEW DIRECTOR OF THE REINA SOFÍA MUSEUM
Manuel Segade was elected as the new director of the Museo Reina Sofía, a position held by Manuel Borja-Villel between 2008 and 2023.

The new director was elected by a committee of experts, formed by Christophe Cherix, curator of MoMA; Cuauhtémoc Medina, chief curator of the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo (MUAC); Joanna Mytkowska, director of the Warsaw Museum of Art; Gloria Moure, former director of the Centro Gallego de Arte Contemporáneo (CGAC), and María Nicanor, director of the Smithsonian Design Museum.
Sagade is an art historian and manager, and is currently the director of the Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo (CA2M) in Móstoles, Spain. He has worked in various institutions where he held different roles such as programming coordinator of the private space in Barcelona, Metronom (of the Rafael Tous d'Art Contemporani Foundation) and was chief curator of the Centro Gallego de Arte Contemporáneo (CGAC).
